9/20/07Just wanted to post a quick message to all fellow alumni who may be on myspace. My name is Brooke Rogers, I was at Connie Maxwell from 1992-1998. I graduated from Winthrop University in 2003 and am now currently working as a Director of After School and Summer Programs at a Child Development Center. A lot of us (alumni) are reconnecting on myspace, so I have created a Connie Maxwell Alumni Group on Myspace. It is a private group, I have to approve everyone who comes in, that way we can weed out things and people that should not be on there...but we would LOVE to have you join. Hope to hear from you. ebrooke24@yahoo.com www.myspace.com/conniemaxwellalumni

5/29/07Billie Holmes asked me to pass along an update on Steve Childers. He is home from the hospital and on the road to recovery from heart by-pass and pacemaker surgery. Marc Ellison has also had heart surgery. His left vocal cord was paralyzed during his operation, and doctors plan to operate to repair it. Betty and Jimmy Urban's brother, Roger, had heart by-pass surgery in April, and has had a good recovery. These three would have been in the graduating class of about 1971 or so. Get well soon guys! 6/5/07 HI everyone. It’s Kristi. I use to live at Connie Maxwell. I lived there for almost three years. I left Connie Maxwell on January 17, 2007. So I only really have been gone for about five months. I miss Connie Maxwell a lot. I lived at Vass Cottage with two wonderful cottage parents. I also had wonderful team leaders and some wonderful Social Workers. I just wanted to stop by and tell everyone to please put me on the prayer list because I will be attending Job corps sometime this summer. After Job Corps I'm going to train and go back to school so I can be a cottage parent at Connie Maxwell. Well I have to go to Work I’ll hopefully see y'all soon. Oh by the way. VASS COTTAGE RULES! Kristi Plyler gods_little_angel_17_2007@yahoo.com

5/29/07 Hi everyone, I would love to hear from any one that lived at CMCH during 1961-70.

5/29/07My father, Roy, who was known as Rock during his time at Connie Maxwell (in the 1930's) passed away in 2001. I'd be interested in speaking with anyone who might have known him during that period in his life. Mark Landreth markl@fcul.org

5/14/07Just wanted to let you know that Steve Childers, CMCH alumnus, has suffered a major heart attack and is hospitalized in Greenville Memorial Hospital, Greenville, SC. He had surgery Thursday or Friday and is in CCU, sedated, and on a ventilator. They tried to wean him off but did not tolerate it so they decided to hold off. He is not allowed visitors at this time and I will try to keep you posted as I learn additional news. Billie Holmes
