The Vass Cottage girls enjoyed a shopping trip to Greenville. Two of our girls are going on the mission trip over spring break. We enjoyed the All Stars Game at CMCH and at John de la Howe. Kerri Erskine visited our cottage during her Easter break and spent time with some of the girls. Everyone was glad to have a week off for spring break. One of the girls is attending the prom at Greenwood High. Four of our girls are attending the prom at Emerald High. One of the girls from Brown Cottage moved to Vass and received a warm welcome from everyone. We are glad she is with us. The girls at Brown Cottage enjoyed shopping and going out to eat. They also enjoyed activities with Siloam Baptist Church, basketball and ABC. Special visitors were family members of the girls.  One of our girls is getting extra help at school and another is going to Genesis Academy. Two girls were on the All Star Basketball team. Hamilton Cottage got a new roof. The boys really enjoyed the competitive interaction with John de la Howe boys both here and in McCormick. They are also enjoying ABC training such as touring Huntington Apartments and learning about housing. Shirley Swygert visited and brought the boys Easter goody bags. Trinity Baptist Church also came over for a cottage tour, brought homemade cookies and prayed with us. Pastor Doug and Mr. John came for dinner. Two of our boys completed Driver’s Ed class. One of the boys turned seventeen and we had a party with the TIL team at ABC and another turned sweet sixteen! We had a Pizza Party and an ice cream cake. One of the boys attended the Alumni Meeting with the other seniors. The Self Cottage boys enjoyed renting video games and going to the movies. Several boys had really good grades on their interims. One of our boys joined Connie Maxwell Baptist Church. Newell Smith Cottage enjoyed going out for treats and to John de la Howe for the basketball games. We went shopping for spring clothes and Easter. The girls are enjoying ABC. Pastor Doug came for dinner. Mrs. Tonya Stevenson from Anderson visited and talked to the girls, played games, and brought them gifts. She visited again and brought Mrs. Selina and conducted an Easter Egg Hunt. Congrats to our girls on their last progress report. Greenwood Christian School elementary students celebrated their 1st 100 Days of School by collecting 100 different items; including can goods, pairs of socks, money, tooth brushes, tooth paste, soap, wash cloths and donated them to our cottage. Four of our girls made the All Star Basketball Team and two are on the mission team.

One of our girls participated in the dinner theater choral concert at Mauldin High School. The girls and staff went to support her in this event.  Thank you, Tanglewood Baptist Church, for taking the girls shopping for Easter dresses.  Fountain Inn Baptist Church “you-nique girls ministry” took the girls out for a movie and also provided each student with a personalized Easter basket.  The Agape ladies came to our home for an evening of snacks and games which was enjoyed by all.  We would like to thank Rehoboth Baptist Church and Pickens First Baptist Church for their generous donation of supplies.  Thank you, Standing Springs Baptist Church, for bringing pizza and for the wonderful fellowship.  Thank you Mrs. Andrea U. and friends for a wonderful meal and fellowship.  Thank you, Mrs. Gail and ADK sorority members, for visiting with us and for the generous donation of supplies.  Thank you, Mrs. Arrowood and friends, for faithfully donating Easter baskets every year.  Our girls are participating in fundraising events with New Hope Baptist Church youth department.  They are raising money for the summer mission trip.  Happy 17th birthday, to one of our girls!
